East Baton Rouge Parish is the most populous parish in the U.S. state of Louisiana. As of the 2010 census, the population was 440,171. West Baton Rouge Parish is one of the sixty-four parishes in the U.S. state of Louisiana. As of the 2010 census, the population was 23,788. East Baton Rouge and West Baton Rouge Parishes are located inside of the Baton Rouge, LA Metropolitan Statistical Area.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, West Baton Rouge Parish has a total area of 204 square miles (530 km²), of which 192 square miles (500 km²) is land and 11 square miles (28 km²) (5.6%) is water. It is the second-smallest parish in Louisiana by land area and smallest by total area.
As of the 2010 census, there were over 440,000 residents in East Baton Rouge, making it the largest parish in Louisiana. There are 156,365 households and 102,575 families residing in the parish. As of the census of 2000, there were 21,601 people, 7,663 households, and 5,739 families residing in the parish. The population density was 113 people per square mile (44/km²). There were 8,370 housing units at an average density of 44 per square mile (17/km²).
